It's the most wonderful time of the year!

Our community members had a lovely Christmas and holiday week thanks to the care and generosity of our donors and volunteers. Yummy meals were provided by Johnny's Bagels & Deli, Ringers Roost, Wawa, and Vince's Cheesesteaks. We had help from volunteers at City Center Allentown and the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley. Our "angel" individual donors provided an extravagant Christmas Eve breakfast and an amazing gift of warm winter boots.

A shout out to our partners at Ripple-Allentown, YMCA of Allentown PA Warming Station, Bethlehem Emergency Sheltering, Christ Lutheran Church of Allentown PA and everyone who helped keep our community members warm over the bitter cold weekend!

Tocqueville Society Volunteers from the United Way

We were grateful to have volunteers from the Tocqueville Society of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley join us for the day. They arranged our flower beds and prepared our facilities for the winter. As winter is approaching, they packed some care packages for our community members which included tissues, hygiene items, and some snacks. Thanks for spending the day with us and caring for our community!

Volunteer Day with PPL

On September 22, 2022 volunteers from PPL came to help us clean the Community Building Center. As the seasons change, it’s good to keep our space clean. On average, we get 50-70 people through our space during center hours which is plenty of foot traffic. Our regular cleaning procedures include vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning bathrooms, wiping down tables and countertops, but often time we don’t have time to do that deep cleaning that’s needed.

We are grateful to the Volunteer Center of the Lehigh Valley for arranging the PPL volunteers to come and carpet clean, wipe down walls, pressure wash the porch, and weed our flower beds. We had a great group of volunteers that got the work done quick. Thank you! #pplvolunteers #ppldayofvolunteering

Chair Yoga is Back!

We are always grateful to our college interns who come from various schools to lead activities for our community members. Whether it’s art therapy, chair yoga, hair cuts, or even taking blood pressure, we appreciate everyone’s gifts and how they can be used to benefit the community! We’re happy to have chair yoga back at the community center, thanks to our fabulous Muhlenberg College students!
