Welcome to our community!

Ripple Community Inc. (RCI), founded in 2015, is building a stronger, more connected Allentown. Here at RCI, we foster meaningful relationships, bridge divides across social boundaries, and offer housing solutions that are safe and affordable. Our core programs provide permanent housing, wraparound services, and lasting community connections that help neighbors thrive.

Our mission is to nurture community and connection in Allentown by fostering a sense of community among our neighbors who have traditionally been marginalized and by cultivating connections across social boundaries.

Our work and programs

The Community Building Center has the simple yet powerful purpose of being a safe, welcoming daytime space for anyone who needs it. As one of our community members put, “For people who are maybe having a little trouble finding their way, they can come to a place like this. They may not find all the answers they need for everything, but what they will find is somebody who cares. And that’s about all there is in this life.”

Each day, we offer activities that spark connection – whether it’s a game of cards, an art project, or a poetry writing group, these activities provide a break from the stressors of everyday life, the opportunity to share one’s own story, and the chance to reconnect in what makes you human.

The RCI Village housing program is more than just housing – it’s a foundation for life stability. Our holistic approach — combining safe, permanent, affordable housing, wrap-around services, and community support — increases housing stability and improves long-term outcomes. Through access to deeply affordable, safe, permanent housing and wraparound supports, RCI Village residents are able to put down roots and establish true homes for themselves. The program, established in 2018, has been remarkably successful, with 87% of residents remaining stably housed to date.

With housing secured, residents are able to achieve life goals, like furthering their education, successfully maintaining employment, and improving their food security. RCI Village housing is considered permanent, meaning that residents are welcome to stay for as long as they choose. Long-term housing stability, bolstered by community connection, helps people permanently transition out of homelessness and housing instability.
